The experts from Chittenden Solid Waste District are offering 4 free workshops to help you set your household or workplace up for success with recycling, composting, household hazardous waste, and more.
Join us for one or all 4 of these workshops. Detailed information on each workshop is below.
Free! Pre-registration is required. A minimum number is needed to offer these workshops. Please register one person from your family, but bring the whole family.

Tuesday, 9/13: Recycling Tips & Tricks – Have you ever had a question about what belongs in the blue bin at home or at work? Wondered why certain things do and don’t belong there? Come learn why some things are recyclable and others are not, and the most effective ways to make it happen at home, at work, and on the go. Bring your pet peeves and success stories to share with the class!
Tuesday, 9/20: Think Outside the Blue Bin –You can recycle a lot more than what you can put in your blue bin or cart. You’ll learn about the wealth of recycling and reuse options at CSWD facilities and in our community.
Tuesday, 9/27: Simple Steps to a Non-Toxic Household – We know about the hazardous materials in our garages and basements, but what about the ones in our bathrooms, kitchens, and even bedrooms? Find out how to dispose of what you’ve got and replace many of them with non-toxic substitutes.
Tuesday, 10/4: What to do with food scraps: Compostable paper and food scraps make up about a third of your trash. Learn how easy it is to make compost in your backyard or drop it off at CSWD to let us make it for you. Bonus: Kitchen tips to help you reduce the amount of food wasted through spoilage, etc.
