Lacrosse is a fast paced sport that combines the power of football and hockey and the endurance, agility and strategy of soccer and basketball. The program focuses on individual and team concepts in a fun and learning environment.
These are competitive leagues, which travel, for boys and girls in grades 3rd/4th, 5th/6th & 7th/8th. Separate leagues are offered to boys and girls. A minimum number and coach is needed to form a team. If there is not enough players or a coach to field a team, that program will be cancelled. Please register early!
FEE: $80 Res/$85 Non; includes league fees and game supplies.
(Does NOT include US Lacrosse Membership).
(Players must have their own equipment, see below).
US LACROSSE MEMBERSHIP: Every year a US Lacrosse Membership is required for your child to participate in the program. You must renew or purchase a membership for your child. We suggest that you purchase the membership after teams have been formed and a coach is found. Membership is not needed to register.
PRACTICES: (Days and times are dependent on coach's availability)
Indoor Practices- begin the week of March 25, and are one day a week at WCS.
Outdoor Practices- begin late April, and are two days a week at Allen Brook Park.
EQUIPMENT:
Boys' Teams: Players are required to provide their own equipment, which includes a stick and protective gear (helmet, gloves, arm pads and shoulder pads).
Girls' Teams: Players are required to provide their own equipment, which includes a stick & eye mask.
COACHES NEEDED: The lacrosse program continues to grow and the need for volunteers grows along with it. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up when you register your child.
