Program Change:
The times for Saturday classes have changed.  See below for the new times.  We were notified by The Edge to make the changes.    The Tues, Thurs, & Fri, classes have not changed.  

Stroke Development Programs have been cancelled.  The Edge is offering a Swim Team prep class.  Contact The Edge directly for information.

The Recreation Dept. and The Edge of
Williston are teaming up to offer youth group swim lessons.  The lessons introduce swimming techniques and increases safety skills around the water.  Following Red Cross guidelines, each level provides a building block for the next.  

Lessons are held at The Edge of Williston.

We are allowed 4 spots in each level and registration has to be done through the recreation dept.

Class Descriptions
  • First Splash- ages 6 months-3 yrs. Children learn basic swimming skills with adults through splashing, blowing bubbles, songs, toys and more. A parent must be in water w/child.
  • Preschool- ages 3-5 yrs. Designed to give young children a positive, developmentally appropriate aquatic learning experience. Introduction to the water with floating, gliding and more.
  • Levels 1-2- ages 5 & 10 yrs. Orient children to the water, help them gain basic skills in swimming on front/back with assistance, floating and gliding.
  • Level 3- ages 5 & 10 yrs. Expand on skills learned in Level 2; develop basics of front crawl and elementary backstroke.
  • Level 4- ages 5 & 10 yrs. Improve proficiency in swimming strokes: elementary backstroke, front and back crawl; introduce breastroke, butterfly and sidestroke.
  • Stroke Development- Program has been cancelled by The Edge.

Registration Information:
  • Registration is done online and there are two payment options.
  • At Checkout you will have the option to pay online or offline.
  • 1. Online Payment Option is with a credit card (A convenience fee of $2 or 3.5 % is added, whichever is higher). Using this option your balance is paid in full and the person you are registering is enrolled in the program that you have chosen. The Online Registration Payment Option, is available until the day before the program, or in the case of a weekend program the Thursday before, as list will be delivered on Friday.
  • 2. Offline Payment Option is mailing or bringing in a check or cash with the receipt that is generated after you register. Reminder; the person you are registering is not enrolled until payment is received. The Offline Payment Option, closes a week prior to the start of a program. This is done so that mailing in payment reaches us prior to the start of the program.
  • When the Offline Payment Option is closed you can come into the Rec. Office to register and pay.
  • Please create a household account prior to coming in if you don't have one already. (Upper left hand corner).
  • Program numbers are checked one week prior to start date to see if minimum number is met. If not a program can be cancelled due to low enrollment.
  • No registrations are accepted after the second meeting of a program.
  • Don't Wait! Register Early! (A program might be cancelled due to low enrollment).
